Visual artist based in Dublin, Ireland.

Elizabeth O’Shaughnessy is an Irish photographic artist based in Dublin. She is currently completing an MFA, Photography at Ulster University. She is a graduate of the B.A. in Photographic Media from Griffith College Dublin, having completed a Certificate in Photography & Digital Imaging from the National College of Art and Design (NCAD) in 2019. She also holds a B.A. and M.A. from the University of Limerick (U.L.). In 2021, she was nominated for News Photographer of the Year at the Student Media Awards. In 2022, she was nominated for the RADAR New Graduate Residency programme, PhotoMuseum Ireland Emerging Artists Awards, and was longlisted for the RDS Visual Arts Awards. Elizabeth’s work is held in the archive of the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland (RCPI).

Elizabeth’s areas of interest relate to gender, representations of women in visual culture, misogyny in the new Irish state in the 20th century, and the construction of history.
